whole prey question

For people that feed whole prey, what do you feed?
I'd like to switch over to it but my cat has only eaten (whole prey) mice and quail. I wouldn't think that would be enough variety if she only ate that.
Thanks!

How do you get them to eat bugs? Do you just put down a handful of dead crickets or something? Also what size rat do you get?

Live bugs -- like moths or something, I would assume. Things that move so that they can run and catch them.

We usually buy crickets live, and put them in the tub for the kitties to hunt.

The rats we've used were pinkies/hoppers. I feel a variety of sizes is important, though, because in the wild they wouldn't JUST eat babies. They'd eat adults, sub adults, etc.
