Raw Feeding in the UK

Hi from England!

I've only joined a few days ago after being recommended by another member and WOW am I glad I did. I have a 7 1/2 year 25lb Maine Coon male who I have been raw feeding since May. He is rescue and I got him in March very ill and severely underweight. He had crystals in his bladder and kidneys and after a lot of research decided to try a raw diet. He is so happy and healthy now its unreal. Best part is he doesn't cry going to the litterbox anymore.
On the UK Forums those who admit to raw feeding are generally met with abuse so its fantastic to see this kind of sub forum. I've been reading through several threads and have learnt so much more.

Buddy doesn't have a set Menu as yet, but after reading other threads this is something that I really must do. Generally he eats what we humans do - ie. if I'm cooking chicken / rabbit etc I get these whole from the butchers and cut what we humans don't want off / scoop out and he has these. The only cooked meal he has is traditional fish on Friday which I steam as I was told that I should not give him this raw; although given the chance he will steal it and seems to prefer it raw. Perhaps now I've found somewhere to get correct helpful information others could advise on this. I'm lucky to live in an area with cattle farms so also get organs etc from them (mostly for free). Buddy does love his mice though. He has "pinks" as daily treats and large mice or baby rats as a meal. I get these from exotic pet food suppliers as I feed them to my snakes.

I'm really looking forward to discussing feeding more in a nice friendly relaxed environment. Thank you already >^.^<

Thank you. I always remove pin bone and worm but he is getting it raw tomorrow - the skin will give his teeth a good clean x
