Introducing Flopsy, Mopsey and Cottontail

Hi Cat Lovers
We have 3 beautiful bouncing fur balls - they are brothers from the same litter that we rescued from the bushes. Their Mom is a feral Calico and their Dad was feral and all white (sadly he passed away recently we heard) and she had 2 more litters immediately afterward before a neighbor was able to TNR her and two of her kittens. We rescued the first litter (our three boys) and we had quite a learning experience dealing with feral kittens (and the trauma of trapping them and taking them away from their Mama cat). We had been feeding them all for 2 months outside in their bushes before we rescued them, and one of them (Cottontail was the weakest of the litter) wasn't doing so well, so we decided that it was time to take better care of them.

We had them neutered and vaccinated when they were old enough (another trauma...) and after a while (and some TLC) they grew to love and trust us. We read about the horrors of dried food and immediately switched to canned wet food, and then read about the damage that commercial / processed food can do and we switched them to a raw food diet. We are still trying to get the raw food diet right, and this is one of the reasons why I'd like to be a part of a cat community so that I can ask questions and hear other opinions and learn to keep my boys healthy and happy. I also want to ask about vaccinations - the ones we have already given them in our ignorance suggested by the vet, and what other stuff we should be thinking about.

Our boys are 3 years old in April 2011 and fill our lives with so much love - we are so lucky.

You will definitely get great advice in the Raw Forum.

Welcome to you and the Furballs. Love their names, I remember my grandma reading me that story over and over - I'm sure it was at my insistance!
