kitten problem

Hello everyone!

So a little about me and my new family member. I live in Kentucky and have been here for a few months, I love it!

I just got a kitten from a friend at work about a week or so ago. (to my knowledge) Her mother stopped nursing when the kittens were around 2-3 weeks old, and they were bottle fed. Quinn is probably about 4-5 weeks old now. She has successfully made the transition from bottle feeding to wet/dry mixed. Now heres the problem -

This kitten is addicted to people! I'm not so worried about the excessive nursing, shes getting better and better every day with that. But she suffers from pretty severe separation anxiety. Whenever someone leaves the room or she is alone she starts mewing and just wont stop! She is a velcro cat, she wants to be on and around you at all times. We also got her sister (we are assuming they are girls because they are both tortishell) at the same time, and although her sister also shows some of these problems, its nowhere as severe as Quinn. Quinn has no desire to play with the other cats or even join them in they're daily nap pile! She plays a little bit sometimes with them, but its never really like how she plays when a human is with her. It really worries me that she wont be able to be alone when my boyfriend and I are at work and the people staying with us currently leave. What do I do about her separation anxiety and how do I make her more comfortable without having to be around her 24-7?

Sorry for the super long post, and thank you for taking the time to read all of it and help me out, its greatly appreciated!

I agree. She's still such a baby and, in a perfect world, she'd still be with her Mom. But, since that's not possible, I'd just enjoy her for now. She should be much better when she's a little older.

May I just say I LOVE the name Quinn! I had a Black DMH named Quinn, she was lovely and I loved the name on her! (RIP Quinn)

But yes, I know what you mean about the "clingy" stage when they are so young.. enjoy your kitten, cuz they grow up so fast!
