Need help!

Hey-lo!

I have a kitty that my partner and I adopted that just had babies. Momma kitty is very weak, not eating and not taking care of her little one.

I'm in panic mode...baby is crying for momma and momma is too weak to move. How do I feed the little one and what should I do about momma?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Mike

I would take Momma to a vet asap. As for the kitten, you'll need a kitty bottle and formula (such as KMR), which are available at pet stores. I imagine the emergency vet would also have them, if you'll be there with Momma in any event.

Hi Susan!

Thank you so much for the advice! Just to give you an update, Ariel is doing better. She is moving around and is eating.

Just to give you a little bit of the back story, yesterday we took her to the Vet with her baby. She wasn't the happiest when I had to take a taxi to the vet, I didn't want to take her on the subway...it only took about 15 minutes to get to Manhattan from where I am in Queens. She was given a dewormer and earmite medicine. When we got her home she ate and fed her child. Around 1:30 am she woke me up for food and petting. She did this about 3 or 4 time until about 5 am. Today, since my partner was home. He noticed her being lethargic and not eating. He kept an eye on her and let her be considering she was up almost all night the night before. She slept for about four hours and about 7 pm tonight we placed her with her child and she nursed, she ate a little. Now she is laying down on our bed and we will keep our eyes on her tonight.

Thank you Susan for your advice! I'll keep you posted!
Pictures will be posted soon!
