So I need a little help figuring something out here. I just got a new Toyger cat. He's adorable and sweet-natured, and he gets along really well with my family (including our other kitty, whose brother tragically passed recently). Everything seems nice, until he, well, does his stuff in the litter box. He stinks up the entire main part of the house. It's so awful, it's as if we open the door to a sewage plant every time he goes or has gone. Even him covering it is not enough, because the stench starts as soon as he goes. He eats a typical diet of Royal Canin brand dry food, and some Friskies canned food at dinner, daily. In my twelve years with my Nebelungs, they never had - and the surviving one still doesn't have - this problem. We've had the new Toyger for almost a week now, and he's a 3-5 year old adult. Maybe he's still got trace of whatever the previous owners were feeding him, but I don't know what his diet was and I'm hoping we can fix this problem. I don't know if this matters, but he was also surrounded by other Bengals most likely on the same diet in the previous rescue home. Does anyone know what's going on and have any ideas on how I can fix it? It would be tragic for all us, including our surviving kitty who's finally getting closer to him and making a friend again, if this couldn't be worked out and he would have to go back. But we can't live in what smells like a raw sewage plant 24/7!!
Thanks a lot, - Michelle
