Wink G'day

G'day from SA! That's South Australia! I'm obviously new here. Last Halloween I surprised my 7 children with a special treat for their trick or treat bags- a little black kitten they have named Cinder. You should have seen their faces when I told them I had no lollies left, but I did have one treat (after I had given them a few cat toys and cat food packets as treats first!) left to give them. My 7yo son thought she was a toy cat, then thought we would have to give her back!
Anyway, Cinder is my 3rd black cat. I had Jade for 13 years and Onyx for nearly 15. They were beautiful cats that met sad ends and left me (and my eldest kids) heartbroken. So 6 years on we have finally got another black kitten. And I'm afraid to say, she is a bit crazy! Maybe I've just forgotten that jade and Onnie were crazy kittens too, but Cinder thinks she's a tiger. She pounces and bites constantly, and she often climbs the net around the trampoline and sits at the top! Her tail fur is constantly standing up in agitation. I'm hoping she calms down a bit after we desex her next month. Tomorrow my 15yo Aspergers son goes back to boarding school so they will both miss each other a lot, they are kindred spirits, both have a calming effect on the other.
Anyway, that's my story. I love black cats, and tell my friends that all witches have them. Lol

Sounds like typical kitten play to me. Just be sure not to encourage her to pounce on wiggling fingers or toes no matter how fun it seems. It gives mixed messages when you scold for the same thing.

Sounds like she's a good thing for your son. I know many a kitty and doggy who've helped autistic kids so that's so awesome!

I always wanted pets on holidays when I was a kid! I bet your kids were very excited! I bet your black kitten will calm down with age.

Welcome to the forum! Your kitten sounds adorable and mischeivous!! Typical baby behavior! I met a black kitty that was blind since birth. The shelter named him "Stevie" as in Stevie Wonder. He would walk swaying his head side to side like a blind person would. He ended up being adopted by a local library as their mascot!

Kajja71, I hope you, Cinder and your son have an awesome year together - even when apart!!

Welcome,Kajja! I have friends who move back and forth from S.A. to Western P.A. (Pennsyvania)! They have a 12 yr old boy named Riley. Mom's a radiologist. Dad's part Aborigine and also works in the medical field. (I think).

Sounds like Cinder's a handful! btw,I LUV how you gifted her to your kids! I didn't know you did Halloween in Australia!
