Lightbulb Hello

Hello all. I am a long time kitty mommy but have always had the back up of my mom and dad for parenting help. My lovely Danika is 2 1/2 years old and still full of it. My fiance and I have opted to have her and not children so to say the least she is slightly spoiled. Working and being at home with my loves are my normal activities. I am joining here to learn as much as I can and have fun doing so and getting to know other kitty mommy's and daddy's.

Welcome to the forum, Danika's Mommy! My husband and I could not have children so we have had cats throughout our 28 years of marriage and haved loved every single one of them as if they were our own babies! We currently have 5 indoor cats - all mostly unadoptable rescues, most of them are senior rescues. I now you will enjoy the forum!

Hello

Hi DM! Like Marcia, I can't have human babies so all of my critters are my children. I tell people that I've got 11 kids and laugh when their jaws hit the floor!

All of my kitties are inside only so it's fun around my house trying not to stumble over a dog or kitty. Ha.

You'll learn a lot here and everyone is very nice and helpful.

I actually ask people that don't know me if they'd like to see my baby pictures (they raise an eyebrow that an elderly woman has babies) then laugh when their jaw drops at my kitty pictures I keep in my wallet!!
I'm easily entertained!!

Good for you! Not having kids and having kitties instead is great choice!

We just got our two blue british shorthair kittens. We treat them like they are our kids, love them like they are our kids. LOL Totally spoiled. We have grandkids and great grandkids and love all of them, but the kitties are here every day to greet us. Kitties make a home so much more fun!

Hello

I sent my mom last year a couple car magnets saying that she loves her grand dogs and grand cats.

I'm with you on the "have pets not kids" train. When I was in my teens my mom predicted how many kids me and my sisters would have. For my younger sister she said two, for my youngest sister she said ten (lol), and for me she said none, but I would have a lot of pets.

At the time, I was young and bought into the whole "girls are supposed to get married, have babies, clean the house, etc" thing, so I was actually offended by what my mom said.

But as an adult I realize, like most of my mother's words that I scoffed at when I was younger, she was absolutely right. (Though neither of my sisters have kids either, but we're all in our twenties so I suppose there is still time for them!)
