Hello from Buffalo NY

Hi,

I have a 7 year old ginger cat called Hercules, who has lived with us for about a year now. Just five days ago we adopted an 8 year old grey domestic long hair called Tiny.

The intros have gone fairly smoothly so far. I have made some mistakes, but hopefully we are still on the right track.

I sought out this forum to help with issues regarding the new cat and how the two of them will get along.

They mostly ignore each other, a bit of hissing here and there but nothing overtly aggressive from either cat. I worry a bit that Tiny hides all afternoon, but the kids have been home from school and although they are good with the cats they can be rather loud.

When I first picked up Tiny I wanted to change his name, he's really too dignified for "Tiny". He is, however half the size of Hercules, and the kids don't want to change it, I'm afraid I'm stuck

Are you a fan of the 90s 'action pack' Hercules? How about the Italian movie series from the 60s?

Hi Buffalo!! I was born and raised there not far from the Peace Bridge. The old armory and Prospect Park were my playgrounds! I often google-earth the place and "walk" the streets of my old neighborhood! Lots of pleasant memories! Welcome to the forum!

Hi and welcome to the forums! You're not far from my neck of the woods. (I'm living in the Southern Tier at the moment.)

Your cats sound adorable! Do you have any pictures of them you could post? It's always fun to be able to put a name to the face when people tell their cat stories.

Also, can I blatantly use you as an information source for a sec? I normally buy my pet food in Rochester, but I'm going to be in Buffalo this weekend and I thought I'd stock up while I'm making the trip anyway. Do you know of any place (preferably somewhat near the airport) that sells grain-free cat food brands? No pressure if not, it'll just save me some time if you happen to have a suggestion.

Hey neighbors!

Thanks all for the warm welcomes

I will post some photos in another post (I'll find the right spot)

There is a PetSmart not too far from the airport, it's on Walden west of the I-90 (and the the Galleria Mall). That's where I buy Wellness grain free.

Thanks! That helps a lot. I'm sure I can find that.
