Coming out of lurkdom
Hello, I've been lurking for a while now and don't know that I have anything valuable to add to the site, but I've enjoyed the discussions and am looking forward to participating.
We have always had a cat in the house, but are currently at our all time high, and limit, of 4. Mitzi, a gray polydactyl tabby, who we adopted from a local shelter 4 years ago. We guesstimate she's 10ish. Gizmo (aka Metro because she's as big as a bus), a black & white shorthair, who was given to us by my brother and sil after my sil decided she couldn't deal with a litterbox. According to sil, Gizmo should be 13 now, but we think she's probably 5 years younger than that. And then we have Conan & Andy, 8 month old orange tabbys who we adopted from a friend who had a feral cat give birth in her shed. My friend worked super hard to tame the kittens and did a fantastic job of it! We agreed to take one when she was having difficulty finding homes, but a month later when the last little boy still didn't have a home we ended up with him too and now can't imagine we ever tried to separate them, they are the most bonded pair I've ever seen. They're the first kittens we've had in over 20 years and have been a really hoot.
