New cat mom here

Hi all,

I have a small dog and have been looking for a companion for him and myself. Yesterday I adopted a beautiful 2 1/2 year old cat. He was a stray who had been badly injured. Some kind people rescued him and got him medical help. He's healed now but still has a slight limp. His foster mom was so glad to see him finally get adopted. I can't believe no one snatched up this sweetheart before now. He's used to being around dogs in his foster home. My dog is dying to make friends, but for now Daryl is in his own room enjoying some peace and quiet. He got stressed out from the adoption commotion at Petsmart yesterday.

I have lots of questions and concerns so you'll be hearing lots from me!

Hey there,
Welcome and congratulations on your new kitty! I personally never had dogs, but I sure hope your dog is happier now with Daryl, lol. He sounds like a sweet kitty! Did the foster say he will always have that limp or is he still healing?

Hoping for a great happy household for you all! Photos of both canine and feline are highly encouraged!

Thanks for the welcome. The vet who treated Daryl didn't keep a lot of records because he was a stray. My vet called them and was told that they treated it with cold laser and antibiotics and it happened in March 2014. That's all I know. There's a large indentation on his left shoulder and his left paw sometimes curls in. I wonder if there was nerve damage. He seems to have recovered just fine, other than the paw thing. His foster mom said he gets around like a normal cat. He was checked over by my vet yesterday. More on that in my other thread. Happy to be here!
