I have a 3 year old neutered rescue. I got him when he was 4 months old and I’ve never had a problem with him. But I came home from college because of the virus and he’s been strangely aggressive.
He still cuddles at night and loves to be pet and held. But sometimes I will be petting him and he will start to bite and scratch me. I can’t figure out how to fix it.

Some cats are very sensitive to petting, often disliking specific areas, such as the tummy area. Some will enjoy the petting for a while but then they get overstimulated and lash out, telling you "enough already!" So be observant if you start to see his tail twitch while you're petting him, and stop before he had enough.
