I received my most recent order from Hare Today via FedEx yesterday, and used the first 3 lbs of it today. Yet again, there's very little blood in it, it doesn't smell fresh, and it's got a more cream color to it. I believe it's what happens when they grind the cull animals, the older does that have alot more fat to them. I just don't get it! The quality goes from one extreme to the next. The last handful of orders have been great, a nice amount of blood to the mix, meat smells fresh, and the kitties love it. This time, yet again, it's smell is questionable, the meat is discolored, not alot of blood, and I just can't stand the smell of it. It's not as bad as last time this happened, and the kitties do eat it ok, but it smells up the whole house when I mix it. GROSS!!!!!!! For $4.15 per lb, we should not be getting cull animals, they should charge less for culls, or at least mix them in a bit better to the other fresher, younger meat.

It's definitely a sign that raising our own meat is the very best thing for me, and my little fuzzy four legged furballs. :p

My one problem with the rabbitry........Dave and I can't agree on a name!!!!!! If you have any suggestions on a rabbitry name, do tell! We had thought of MLC Rabbitry (Must Love Cats), but come to find out, MLC is a abbreviation for a common rabbit blood test, so that's out.

Twin Oaks Rabbitry, because Twin Oaks Portraits is the name of your other business, and it would be a "branding" thing.

Agree with Marie! Twin Oaks is awesome.

If you want a more cat related name...

MER? Must Eat Rabbit? :p

Or how about some form of a play on the RAW thing? Like.. EMR - Eat Mine Raw? I have a bad sense of humour. :( LOL Sorry.

It's a cute name, but I'm not sure that you want "fat" in the business name of something healthy for cats.
