HELLO EVERYONE!
I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this, but I hope it is. You see, I'd like to tell you all about my two Kittens, Drizzle and Boo. They're the lights of my life, so I thought I'd share the glow. Hehehe.
Offically, Drizzle is "my" cat, while Boo is my "sister's" cat. In practice, they are both, our babies.
We're both first time pet owners. My sister got Boo when she was 9 weeks old, 1 year and 1 month ago. She's 1 year, 3 months old. Boo is a jet-black Burmese (sp?), totally black, all except her tongue and eyes. She's a real beauty. She's quite the little princess, always walking around like a little model strutting down the run way. She's quite vocal to anyone around, and loves attention. She's a bit skittish though, more so than seems normal. My sister's ex was too rough when holding her, and we believe perhaps hit or kicked her some of the time when no one else was home. Her back bothers her some times, too, and she's afraid of being covered in blankets. All because of him. Thankfully, I am slowly reversing what damage he was able to do. She used to be dis-trustful of any man, and even somewhat of anyone but my Sister, but now she's warmed up, especially to me. She's taken to being my snuggle bug on the couch and can't get enough scratching and petting from me.
She doesn't play much, anymore, since she was fixed. Though she will play-fight with Drizzle. We know it's not real fighting as the handful of times they've really gotten into fights, we hear it! Everyone loves Boo. She's a sweetheart. She's almost a show-cat, but has some knicks and cuts that left scars. Two from birth, and a few from playing with Drizzle too roughly.
Boo is the Beauty. But Drizzle is the CUTEY.
His adventures, actions, and escapades are known throughout all of our friends.
Drizzle is an American Bi-Color Short Hair. He is primarily Slate/Charcoal Gray, with white. His front paws are white, his back legs to the first joint are white, and his tummy and chest are white. The white runs allllll the way up his chest, to the bridge of his nose, where it tapers off. He has an abudance of whiskers on his adorable little baby-like face. His nose is all pink, except for his left nostril which is gray. Hehe. His white chin is also marked by gray which makes him look like he has a little gotee.
He is just 8 months old. He has that eternal kitten face: we've seen photos of other cats just like him, perhaps even relatives (markings right down to the spots on nose/chin and such) and every photo of a cat with his colors/face/markings has that life-long "Kitten" cute look. He loves to roll over on his back so you can give him Tummy Time tickles, and he's great at being held like the little baby he is. He's also quite the snugler, and every noise he makes is cute. He can't stand to be seperated from anyone, so if you close a door on him, expect him to cry and cry until you open it! His little cry/meow is so heart wrenching no one can resist it. It sounds like he's saying "WHY!?" in a sad voice.
Drizzle does many adorable things. He'll sit on the top fourth step, and poke his head and paws through the rails to look down and survey the land. Hehe. He's always rolling over as well, but I mentioned that. Drizzle *loves* to play Fetch! We throw a mousie, or a ball of paper, and off he goes like a bat outta ****! Then he scampers back over like a lion sporting a kill and drops it in front of you to throw again! Before we had him fixed he'd play for upwards of FORTY MINUTES at a time! Since he was fixed, he'd all but stopped, but just this week began playing for longer durations. Post-fixing it was 3 or 4 throws/returns and he was done. Now we're up to 16-22 throws/returns before he plops down, pooped. It's great to see him play like that again. He also used to play goalie - sitting atop the condo and whacking at the mousie as we threw it inside. He'd fall off as he struggle to get it inside, or if he was down when we threw it, jump in after it, hanging his little tush out of the opening as he batted it around.
Drizzle loves to snuggle between someones legs, usually either right up by your butt, or down by your calves. We're not sure why, lol. I think it's where he slept with his Mama, or maybe it's just where he feels most warm and snug and secure. Either way, it's tough getting to sleep without a warm ball of fur breathing on your knees in our house!
He's also a real purr-er. He used to pur quite loud when sleepy, but has quieted down with age. But when he's wanting some affection and sleepy? That's where my name MrPurryMotors comes from. He'll pur LOUD and CONTINOUSLY till he falls fast asleep.
Boo and Drizzle get along well, though not the best. They have thier fights of course. Sometimes one hogs all the food. Other times, a cooperative bath turns into a chance to take a bite out of the other. More than not, it's play time and fun time for both. They'll snuggle together, play ball together, chase each other, investigate together, hunt a rogue fly together, sit in the window together. Like peas in a pod.
Well, there we have it. The lights of my life.
Pictures will be available soon. We sent out two rolls of film to be developed and put on CD as well, so when they get in we'll have them up and on-line in no time.
