I just got a 4 1/5 month old kitten a few days ago, and when she lays with me or my roommate she almost immediately rolls into a ball and starts licking her stomach and lightly chewing on it. She also kneads her paws like crazy while doing it. While the kneading is adorable, I just want to make sure she is OK. I don't know if this is common in kittens and something she will grow out of, or if I should put something on it to discourage her from licking/chewing it. She cleans the rest of her body normally, but when she gets to her stomach she seems to get lost in it. Am I worrying too much or is this something I should get checked out? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Was she recently spayed?

I think maybe the area of her incision may be itching. Hopefully someone else will post who has some answers.
