Has anyone here ever tried a method of training on their cat called clicker training? The cat learns to associate a clicking sound with a reward. I tried it on Jet. I got him to 'target', that is, follow a target stick for a reward. Of course there was a lot of ham involved :) Anyone tried this?

I haven't tried this either. I've heard both good and bad things. I can remember hearing that it works well and they pick up on it fast but I've also heard that once you start it they don't learn as well unless the you continue teaching them with the noise. Then again, I haven't heard enough stories from people and I haven't tried it myself so I wouldn't know. Good luck with your cat! :) Maybe I'll post a site about it up here if I can find any. Have a good day. :)

There is a useful book if you are interested: Clicker Training For Cats by Karen Pryor. It has lots of tips, things to teach your cat and colour photos.
Oh, and I know that it will be available in the US because that's where I ordered it from.
