HI there, I was speaking to a cat owner that shaves her cat and she says it's the greatest thing cause you don't have all this hair everywhere. I thought it was kinda strange any opinion on this or anyone do this too their cat? Does it help?
Nah, it isn't strange. I'll repeat what I posted in a previous thread: it's a perfectly normal thing to do - I know a Persian breeder who always do lioncuts on their kitties during the summer. It helps to curb the hairballs, keeps them cool and more comfortable, and less matting. If you're not sure what you're doing, though, best bet is a professional groomer.
Personally, I don't know that I would want to shave my kitty, the whole appeal of a longhaired being....well....long hair LOL. If I saw the kitty looking miserable and hacking up extra hairballs, though, I think I'd do it for the hot summer months.
