Happy Ash Wednesday! Anyone get ashes on their forhead today? I'll be getting mine tonight.

For Lent I am giving up regular pop so I can only drink diet. I am also giving up CHOCOLATE and cussing. I don't cuss too often but I would like to cut down. The chocolate part might be difficult but I'm determined to stick to it for Lent and for diet purposes.

Anyone else Catholic and giving up something?

I'm Catholic but never go to church and never get into that kind of stuff. Good luck with the things you're giving up for Lent. :)

Good luck with all of this. I only drink diet soda anyway but I ADORE chocolate so I will feel your pain :(

Diet Cherry Pepsi and Diet Barqs are my favorite btw. I'm also a HUGE fan of Diet Orange Sunkist. Hopefully those will help you through this. Diet soda is so much better for you so maybe once Lent is through you will stick with diet drinks

Enjoy your Ash Wednesday service. When I went to Catholic school (me and three other Protestants) I always enjoyed the high holy day services :) At least I remember this as a high holy day service--it was a LONG time ago!

Now that's not fair, ya gotta give up both regular and diet soda. lol.
As for me, I'll try to give up the sweets, it'll be hard our office kitchen is filled with delicious junk...all you can eat junk..round the clock noshing junk. Got my ashes on my lunch hour.

I am a non-practicing Catholic and haven't done the Lent thing in years. I used to try and give up chocolate and it is downright painful. I would be terribly hard this year given the fact we have tons of Easter candy at work.
