I hate to be the first one to use this...but...I came home today because Baxter was not acting like himself this morning. He would not come when I called him and he just stayed off by himself.

This afternoon when I got home he came out...but very slowly. The more he walks the more trouble he has. He is limping on his front paws as he moves. I can't tell if there is something wrong with the paws or his balance. He eventually, after a few steps, sits down then gets up and tries to move along again.

His eyes look fine and his coat is shiny and groomed. I'm really worried because this is how Newt was in the final stages of FIP, with the exception that Newt was not groomed, his eyes were blood red, and his pupils could not focus. Could a common kitty cold cause a loss of balance?

We have a very heavy wood piece on the top of our china cabinet that was knocked down last night...its possible that has something to do with it. I squeezed all along his legs but he does not act like he is in pain from it. Very worried. We have an appointment at 4:30.

Looks like it may be just his left paw. He is limping on it, I took it and gently squeezed the paw and he pulled it away.

I observed him for a little while. He is trying to play with Albert, but as soon as he moves he sits down. He is following us around the house but as soon as he gets there he sits down. Based on the furniture that fell, I think he may have jumped from the stairs over to the furniture, then jumped down (about 6ft) landing on the paw.

Vet seems to think he jammed his right shoulder. They took his temp and checked his weight and said he looks fine. She felt his arms and paws and they did not appear to be broken. She gave him a shot of anti-inflammatory and said to observe him and let them know if he gets any worse.

So it seems it was him who jumped off the china cabinet.

No, his eyes were fine. He was just having problems walking. We're lucky he didn't break something. Those two wrestle up and down the stairs so there is no telling what happened that night. :)
