My seven month old Birman always has black dried eye discharge in the corner of her eyes. I wipe it out and it is back the next day. She has had it ever since we got her as a kitten. Does anyone know what this is and why it is happening? Is it something she may outgrow?

If she has a short nose, this may be normal, tho usually Birmans are not as short-nosed as Persians and Himalayans.
Here's a good article to distinguish whether dark eye discharge is normal or not. Altho one of my Devons has a somewhat short nose, he has "crusties" in the inner corner of his eyes every morning. It seems to be "normal" for him, and he likes it when I clean it out. My other Devon has a slightly longer nose and he rarely gets them.
