My friend's cat is ill. He's 15 years old now. Yesterday, my friend found that his mouth is bleeding. Not much, blood is on his gums. It makes him tired because he can't eat anything except little milk. My friend asked vet for advice but... the tablet is not effective. What should my friend do?

What did the vet say? I would try to give it wet food just for nourishment. Maybe even try to water down the wet food to make it thinner so that it can ingest it. Ultimately, i would take the cat to the vet asap just to see what the problem could be. Good luck![/quote]

Did the vet actually see the cat, or was this an over-the-phone prescription?

The two things it's most likely to be is severe dental disease with an abscessed tooth, or kidney failure with uremic ulcers. Both are emergencies. The cat needs medical attention now!
