Hi all, I'm here for advice for my kitty Skritch. She is 14 years old, multi-colored, long hair...sweet girl....just little at only 6.5lbs. She trotted down our sidewalk as a stray kitten one day and said "Hey! I'll be living here now!" Pardon me if I doing this all wrong might have not been in a form for years and years. Scritch has recently been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor way down in her ear canal. For the time being she seems pain free, happy to eat and get brushed. She has been losing your balance occasionally and her head is tilted. I understand that the surgery can be complicated and cost between 3 and $8,000. Has anybody had this surgery? What was the outcome? What was the cost? Has anyone used CBD oils for pain management? Any advice is much appreciated!!

Oh no, I'm so sorry about Skritch's ear tumor.

I don't have any experience with the surgery, but the cost range you cited wouldn't surprise me. If you decide to go ahead with it, I hope it'll be done by a very experienced specialist.

What was the vet's recommendation and prognosis with and without the surgery?

I haven't personally used CBD oils, but I know several people who find them pretty effective for their kitties, though maybe not as effective as a med like buprenorphine.

The great thing is that she's doing well right now, and hopefully that'll continue for a long time!
