Martin has really gotten in to cardboard. I don't think he's eating much of it, but he definitely tears it up. Does he need more stimulation or do I need to get used to cleaning up little cardboard bits whenever paper products are left out.

Side semi related question: How can I convince him the plant is not to be jumped on?

Welcome to the wonderful world of picking up cardboard bits. Simba is almost 9 years old and he still redecorates boxes. He doesn't do it just to pass time, but rather to create dips in the side of the box so he can lean out more comfortably.

As to the plant- you are going to have to move it.

Same here; Buffy can't pass up a cardbox box without chewing it into an entirely
different shape. She also loves tearing up paperback books, notebooks, etc. As
for plants I gave up on having any living plant except for catnip or cat grass in my house years ago........nothing green and living ever survives my cats!
