He is not on any meds. The dr. says all blood work is fine. He is not doing good! Loosing weight quick, throwing up continuously and diareha. He won't stop drinking water! He hasn't been on our counters for a few years but he is wanting on it now to drink water. He is continuously hungry and wants to eat all the time. There are times that he seems disoriented. He sleeps a lot. I think he is loosing muscle mass also. I am going to the vet again tomorrow. What is the best food to feed him?

It sounds like hyperthyroidism and kidney disease. At this point, I would feed him anything he will eat, but often and in small amounts so he won't throw up. Even if it's human food, like tuna, for one day it won't matter since you're seeing the vet tomorrow. Good luck, I understand what you're going through.

Throwing up, diarrhea, loosing both weight and muscle mass are not fine at all. If your vet says everything is normal, I'd spend the money on a second opinion.

I am so very sorry to hear this. When Cinderella was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she was the most spoiled cat until her time was up. Treasure every moment you have with him and try to be in the moment. I know that's easier said than done. What is your little guy's name? Do you have pictures you can share with us?

So sad. A beautiful cat!

Make sure your vet knows the problem, make sure the front desk girls at the office know, and when the time comes, do not hesitate, do not get put off to some distant date for the appointment.

As said upthread: treasure your time, spoil him rotten for the time you have left. Much sympathy. Such a hard road, watching.

Ahhh he is beautiful with really caring eyes. So so sorry for the diagnosis. Sounds like he is feeling pretty bad already. I hope they can help him some. Spoil him for the little time he has left.
