Hi there, I’m a new cat owner & I’ve noticed our 10mos old cat has begun to nibble on the lavender plant outside, usually after a meal. He doesn’t eat much, maybe a 1” sprig of the flowers. But he definitely is eating it, not just licking it or playing with it. I’ve read online that ingesting too much lavender plant can cause upset stomach in cats, but so far, I haven’t noticed any change in his poop, no vomiting, no lethargy or anything out of the ordinary. He doesn’t eat it regularly, but it’s enough that I’m just wondering if anyone has any idea WHY. Like I’ve said, I’ve researched enough to know to not let him eat anything more than he has, I know it’s not so great, and I discourage it. But I’m just wondering WHY he would eat it at all, since it could make him feel yucky. Any thoughts or experience?
Thanks!!
