Sorry, but this is something I've been fighting with Book about for ages!
Anything left out from packaged dry pasta to bread to cookies to flour to sugar to salt to...ANYTHING... he tears open the bag and either eats it or spreads it around the place.
He's taught me VERY VERY well to clean up everything before I leave the kitchen. I can't even leave dishes in the sink because he'll try to lick pots and pans that are soaking in soapy water....
