This is such a worthy shelter. With a big vision in helping cats. If your not familar with them check out their news letter. Up until a few years ago they were just a local shelter struggling to help cats. A man put up a video on Utube which brought them to national attention.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwM6f0liHpo&feature=player_embedded The rest is history.

Working in the trenches in my own local community I cant help but be impressived with the sheer numbers , vision, compassion, new ideas Cat House one the Kings has implimented to help abandoned felines. That takes courage! The cats are fully vetted which is very expensive, have large outdoor areas to roam, and indoor clean areas to be also. I cant say enough good things about this no kill shelter! I get teary every time I read their on line newsletter.

The producers of the new fall Animal Planet series Must Love Cats went to the Cat House on the Kings to film an upcoming episode. The group was so impressed they spent over 9 hours filming the host John Fulton, Lynea (director of shelter) and the kitties. (Tentatively Scheduled to be aired in January)

OMG! I am almost in boo-hoo-ing TEARS right now! That video looks like my version of HEAVEN. That is what I would like to do for our own cats, with an outside enclosure for them. I don't think I'd be able to convince the husband to turn the back half acre into a cat enclosure ... but I'd sure love to do it!
Our kitties follow me around the house like that. I'd simply *love it* if we could do the same thing outside in a protected environment.

I stumbled on Cat House on the Kings a while back too, and have been really interested in what they're doing. They seem to have gotten it right, that's for sure.

Now, tell me about Must Love Cats! We need another cat show on Animal Planet after losing Housecat Housecall!

I can't believe I never heard of this amazing place!! I'm only probably a couple hours drive from there! I must visit, I always love spreading the kitty love.
