i had two fosters in my house when we started trying to conceive. i talked to my rescue org., my doctors, and my midwife. all assured me that as long as i took proper precautions while cleaning the boxes, it was safe. my husband is in the military, and was deployed for quite a bit of my pregnancy, so having him clean the box wasn't an option. i wore gloves and, for the first trimester at least (the most dangerous time), a painter's mask when i cleaned the box. i washed my hands and face (in case of air born particles) thoroughly. one day, my midwife told me how proud she was of me. most women find out they're pregnant, and automatically send the cat packing, and here i was caring for two cats that weren't even my own.

there is no danger to women who are not pregnant (other than the normal icky-ness that goes with cleaning poo of ANY kind!)
