Anyone ever experience? I'm going to the vet tomorrow morning as soon as they open but until then....

My cat is 20 yrs old and he was fine all day. Around 8pm he was walking down the hall and he pulled his leg up by his head and just stood there. Then he laid on his bed and went to sleep. Around 10 I found him laying under the table. Both his back legs were curling up and he can't walk very well. He crawled off his bed and pooped on the floor. Now he is sleeping.

He has an appetite and still eats and drinks. I checked circulation both legs are warm pads are pink. He hisses when I touch his legs. He is aware and not disoriented. I am very upset and was hoping for some answers. Has anyone experienced this?

Did he have any coughing? How is his breathing?

At 20 years old....a great age for a cat and obviously well cared for by you. You may be at the time you will have to make that "hard decision". By hissing at you when you touch his legs, he is showing you that he is in pain and his legs hurt. Apparently the fact that his appetite is still good in spite of the pain, he is still enjoying life, tho diminished some by lack of control of his hind legs. You may check with your vet for some medication to control his pain. When your cat is no longer enjoying the things he likes, such as eating, sitting in the sun, seeking attention, then you should consider it's time to end any suffering.

Update: I rushed him to the emergency vet but they were only interested in charging me $4,000 in tests. I said I would only do blood & urine. They told me to put him to sleep. I left I hate the emergency get they only care about running up a big bill.

Well a few hours later he was able to walk again. He wasn't feeling 100% so I went to my regular vet. They gave him an IV, and ran blood and urine tests. Long story short no blood clot, no renal failure, no diabetes. The vet thinks it could have been stomach cramps since he chased the puppy away and ate his food a few times. Or it could have been a seizure. (At a vet visit last year the vet said He may or may not have a brain tumor that causes seizures. Vet told us it is pointless to test since he is 20 and he would not operate/ nor would he make it through a long surgery. ) Anyway he is back to normal all tests came back great for him being 20. The vet did say his heart could possibly be started to weaken but he would have to do an EKG with him awake and my cat isn't exactly vet friendly so he said just keep an eye on him. Thanks for the advice!
