My friend is currently in dubai. Her family is leaving for australia and they have a cat that needs a temporary home for 6 months. Leaving him/her in a cattery is too expensive. Any help will be very much appreciated! TIA!

Hi, I'm in Dubai but I don't have room to take a 3rd sadly even for a temp period. Have to ask, are they definitely going to take the cat back after that time. I ask because a lot of animals get abandoned here due to the migrant population. Has the family tried Bin Kitty association, feline friends, although both are pretty inundated with dealing with abandoned strays and a ton of kittens. Also worth trying via their vets? Also maybe ask Posh Paws if they could do a deal as they are a fantastic cattery who are also an animal sanctuary so they might be prepared to do a deal on cost. I assume your friends family is willing to pay something towards the board as well as medical and normal costs for the beloved family member. To be honest they would be better to take their cat now as doesn't he/ she have to go into quarantine for a long period there anyway?

They are willing to pay 500dhs/month (negotiable) plus food and other needs. I think the issue has something to do with the vaccinations. It has to be after 6 months..then only can the cat travel to australia and from there, they have a 10 day quarantine period for all animals.. ? I also read about how much house pets were left behind when the expats had to leave without notice. I feel so bad for the animals and for the families. I am sure they didn't want to leave their family members behind. It is a good thing a lot of organizations have been set up to help our furry friends.

Hi. sorry but had to just ask those questions. After a while here with so many animals abandoned inc expensive full breeds you get a little cautious. Yes the vaccinations makes sense.
I'll put out to some friends as well to see if they can help. Do you know if he is good with other cats and dogs?
