Hi I was just wondering dose anyone know what my cat’s behaviour means? Mekese is a adopted stray cat which used to be chased by one of the more dominate males in my back garden since I have adopended him when ever he meets this other cat he approaches him stretching his neck and swinging his head slowly from side to side as if he dose not want to get eye contact with the other Cat. He also makes a strange meowing noise. The other male cat seems to be totally uninterested by this display even do Mekese is practically nose-to-nose with him. Is this submissive behaviour by Mekese or Aggressive?

It is a sign of aggressiveness, but obviously a more indirect agression.
Is he lowering his head a little when he streches his neck out? If so, the situation is more of an annoyance to him, but will be backed by aggression if needed.

The head movement from side to side with out direct eye contact can also mean that they are NOT looking to make a challenge.
