Cats Recognize Kitty Babies/Children

Cats are all of the same kind like people are like other people.

Because of this, do you think a grown cat knows that an unknown kitten is a baby or child? I am talking about 8 weeks and younger.

Yes, I definitely think cats can differentiate if a cat is a kitten or an adult. I think it's evident in the appearance and demeanor of the cat. I've seen cats meet for the first time and when an adult meets a kitten, there's mostly curiosity. When two adult cats meet, it can be a little more tense and complicated since adult cats are territorial.

I know they can. My friend brought over his kitten to visit, when we only had simba, and it was very young and little. roughly about 8 weeks or maybe younger. he approached it and was curious, and gentle.

When we brought Boo home, he was angry, upset, looking at us as if saying "how could you bring that into my house". she was about 9 months at the time... but only like 6 months younger than him. even at first when she still could have been just visiting like the other, he was angry.

luckily he came around lol.
