Okay, I have four very energetic, spoiled, naughty cats. Lately, my 2 younger cats: GARY: 2 yrs and TINSEL: 1 yr 2 months, keep bringing in animals (birds, mice, lizards, grasshoppers, frogs, & small grass snakes). When I come home or wake up in the morning, I go into my bathroom and about once a week there is a new dead creature in my bathtub. They won't just "play" with these and animals outside they run around in and out with their "prizes" but even if I put them outside, they wait until I open the door and run in with the dead animal. My question is why my bath tub????? They never bring them into any other rooms, but they know that they aren't even allowed in the bathroom. Other people leave the door open and I find them in there. Why do they do this?

Hi
I don't know why they are putting their 'presents' in the bath

but it is interesting as my newly adopted 2 year old female cat often jumps in the bath flattens her ears and runs up and down and chases her tail

I have no idea why, but it is really funny
and it is a ceramic bath, so if we're sat downstairs all we can hear is this thump thump as she runs around in the bath

my other cat (9 months) stands next to the bath on his hind legs (like a meer cat) and looks at her as though she is mad

maybe some cats just like being in the bath
weird though

My kitties love the bathtub, too!! Thing is, though...now that it's colder, they don't play in there anymore. I think it might be because the ceramic is cool, and when it's so hot outside...? We only have a window AC in the kitchen, and all summer, they would spend most of the day sprawled out on the kitchen floor...

Now, of course, since it's colder out, they're figthing for a warm lap...LOL

my cats love to chase thier tails in the bath, at one point they got so bad for playing in there i had to put water in to deter them, if i shut the door they started to dig the carpet, so i put about 3 cm of water in, but that didnt stop one of them, she played in the water! you might see some of my other stories of how she plays with the water in her water dish.

At least its easy to wash away the dirt and debris from the dead animals in the tub! My cats never go outside but I think it would be kind of cute if they did that, up until I'm fed up with picking up dead animals of course. I guess this is their way of saying "Look what I found, and brought just for you!"

yeah, at first it was funny. But one time I was about to take a shower there were 2 birds in there. Another time I look and there had to be at least 8 grasshoppers all torn into pieces. And they love to do this right after I spend forever scrubbing my bathroom down. LOL Thanks for the funny stories everyone.

My cats all love the bathtub to! weird...
Jerry loves to go outside, every time he gets a chance he goes out to hunt. He has caught and killed a mouse, a shrew, a couple birds, and even a squirell! he always leaves them on the front step. I have been told it is because he loves me so much and wants to give me a present. Every time he does it I tell him what a good boy he is and love him and kiss him. Then I have to clean up a gross dead animal  . I really dont like him killing things..but I guess it is instict.
When we moved in august, there are feral cats around and now if he goes out he gets beat up! I hate to tell him no becuase it breaks his heart but Jerry is fixed and he doesnt know how to fight. I am afraid he will get hurt.

Yeah, it's hard to tell your cat no and not let them outside anymore. Once the get used to it, the always want to. Especially Halloween I didn't let any of them outside and they would look at me and cry and I felt so bad. I wish they understood we are just trying to keep them safe.
