So my little Eleanor has coccidia. I've only had her a week and she's a little over 8 weeks old. It's not surprising, I know that. I kept her away from my resident 2 yr old male cat for the first few days while she was being introduced. They took to each other really well and I didn't need to keep them apart by the time last Friday rolled around. Now today I have confirmation from the vet she has the parasite and I'm concerned about my resident cat. He's not showing any symptoms of coccidia that I know of though. They have shared a litter box a bit. I really tried to avoid that but there were a few times she snuck away and jumped in the box for him and vice versa. The resident cat also took to cleaning the new little lady last week. Is coccidia something older cats tend to not get because of a better immune system? Or, is this going to be a vicious cycle that I'm going to be dealing with?
