Hi.

Whenever I get up in the morning, my chubby cat Coco can always be found at the bottom of the stairs, looking up at me, making an odd "bleating" sound! It's like a pining for something sound, and an obvious call to be fed.
However, when I go downstairs and follow her into the kitchen, she goes to her food bowl and carries on eating as normal! It's like she wants food, and needs me to go downstairs and acknowledge that.
Very strange behaviour. If it was just attention she wanted, why doesn't she just come into our bedroom and say hello, which she sometimes does at other times of the day?!?

Yes! My kitty does the same thing. Every morning, so matter how much food is already in his dish, he still yodels to wake me up. Then he leads me into the kitchen, and starts eating out of the full bowl. However, if I don't put some new food in there, he will chase me around the house, nipping at my ankles! Once I do put the food in there (I just sprinkle in a few pieces), he seems happy and carries on.

The moral of the story: He's just spoiled! :D
