Has anyone ever heard of a male cat always trying to lick its owner. Our 6 month old kitten will literally struggle to try to get to your neck or face to start licking you. I dunno if hes just really happy or what lol. Anyone experience this?

Gandalf will lick your nose or lips when you are sleeping if she wants attention but that's about it... Sorry I couldn't answer your questions better

My kitten Magic does this! He also struggles to get to our faces to lick us! He really enjoys licking our hands and feet as well...although we don't let him cause it's slimey! He often goes after my earrings....and sits on my head.....he is a strange guy!

Stephen gives licks "kisses" on the nose everyday when we get home. She meets us at the door and stands on the back of the couch to do so.

She is also a very big licker when we're lounging around. It's sweet, but it can get annoying! She especially loves to lick my face and neck, but she'll work on the hands and arms, too.

Not sure if anyone knows this but cats have a very sensitive place on their backs, right where their tail begins. If you pat that continuosly or scratch it, they starts licking whatever is in front of them very rapidly. Try it....see if your cats have it. Mine do! :D

Yes I am quite aware of that spot and so is my bf! He loves scratching near Twinkie's tail and he starts yelping and won't move like he is frozen in the spot he is in.

As far as licking goes, Twinkie loves licking my arms, not my face, thank goodness! =_

 OK. So here's the thing about the owner licking... It is not cute at 3:00 AM when you are trying to get some sleep. My guy Ferris started this recently and is getting progressively more obsessive. I don't know what to do with him. We've tried "NO" and shooting him with the water pistol but this doesn't work. He's back at me in few minutes. He doesn't do this to my husband, just me. I'm starting to lose sanity and my skin hurts! Help!!!!

Heather, the very first question I asked on Cat Forum was about Sabby licking his paws whenever I touched his back. I didn't know that was normal. Well, the way he does it, I'm sure isn't normal. Maybe that sensitive spot on his back just got overly sensitive. I can't touch his back below his shoulders anymore. He starts by licking, but then he'll start gnawing at his paws. He doesn't like it, either. He'll start to growl if you don't stop.

Yeah I'm not sure if they really like it...I just know it is a sensitive spot on most cats and they start the uncontrollable licking. My Ginger, use to go NUTS when we did it to her, I mean should would start licking the air if nothing was in front of her. Eh, to each it's own I suppose. :D
