My avatar cat has very recently developed a dark spot in his left eye. We have an annual vet appointment next month, and I will have them check it out (or sooner if it gets worse fast).

I have done all the googling about it (iris melanosis, melanoma, etc.), and would just like to hear from other pet parents about any experiences with this condition - thank you!
