Hello all,

I am new here. But I wanted to post about an issue that I am concerned about with my new kitten.

She is just 3.5 months old, and she is acting and doing fantastic and she is the BEST decision I have made in a long time. But, here is the thing and I am sure it is nothing...

Around the edges of her nostrils she exudes a dark substance that hardens. I think it is a kitty cold/runny nose? It is progressively getting less over the last few weeks but I thought I would check with you guys regardless.

A similar dark substance pools in the corner of her eye towards her nose... an eye secreation that hardens and she or I easily wipe off.

Normal? Thoughts?

My one cat Sugar doesnt have this brown substance maybe b/c she is darker colored but my other cat Twinkie seems to have this dark thing right on top of his nose and its brownish and I dont know what it is, vet said it was normal though and sometimes I see it sometimes its gone. Probably just a wet nose and it picks up dirt or canned food but he always has eye winkies and thats normal. Of course its always good to get a vets opinion but seems like something pretty normal. <<))

My kitty gets little boogers from time to time. I figure it is totally normal,, and every pet I have ever had got them as well. We get them, why shouln't our pets? :wink:

Every cat Ive ever had had the same probably. My guess was they were just dried boogers. I usually just scrap them off.

My cat Sammy has had these same kind of buggers ever since I got him. To remove them, moisten a cloth or paper towel with warm water and gently wipe their noses and eyes.
