(((shudders))) No - not intentionally, well, okay, this one time, I THOUGHT I had semi-sweet chocolate and made batter for this giant chocolate chip cookie - as I was chopping up the chocolate, I discovered that it was, in fact, unsweetened chocolate.
But I had all that batter...so I baked it anyway, thinking: how bad could it really be?
Well... when I was a kid my grandmother made the most delicious cocoa drinks using pure cocoa powder and then it was sweeten to taste. The ready made stuff is great, but when you have had milk from your own farm (or as in my case my grandparents farm) and then with cocoa and sugar to taste. YUMMY!!
Without sweetner at all, it's too bitter. I love dark chocolate though, and I can haul down 70% pure chocolate bars, no problem. Chocolate that's even purer is too bitter for me, but great to dust over a cake or something to decorate with (then the sweet cake makes it less bitter).
