Mine change pretty frequently.

Right now Book is : Sheppy SHephardo from Shephardsville Who Lives on Shep Street because he's Shephardish or Kitten Face (pronounced Keeetown Fess). The thought he was funny yesterday because he was nervous and creeping around the room, but the minute I'd call him Keetown Fess his little back would arch and he'd rub against the c losest thing.... then go back to creeping around. He was like "That's me!!! But I'm still scared..."

MowMow is most often 'Moogy' said imitating Rom from Star Trek: DS9 when he talks about his Mom. Drawn out ... "mooooogggggeeeyyy" Or sometimes I call him Po Po 'cause he's like a little cop when things aren't right in the apartment. So I say "Uh oh, it's the Po Po"

Yeah, mine have nicknames! And it seems the foster get nicknames right away, becuase they come with assigned names but it doesn't necessarily match them..

Aries - Tail-suck, mama's boy, Ayers.
Orion - Dork or Dorkus
Gia - GiGi, Pretty Fluff
Karina - KiKi but usually just Karina.

Current fosters:
Charm - Little Bug
Kumba - Pumba Kumba (he reminds me of Pumba from the Lion King)

We sometimes refer to Tosca as the queen as she is the top puss.
Thomas sometimes gets Kitler as he has a moustache!
Suzie gets called Susan most of the time by my husband and I usually call her baby girl.
Henry is little beef cake or more recently fatty - I know it is mean he isn't fat just chunky lol!

I give up trying to remember individual names. I remind myself of my Grandmom when we were all growing up, and we'd take the mick out of her because everyone was called by several half names as she was trying to remember the one that belonged. lol

I find myself doing it with the cats... very frustrating to have a cat sit there, stare at you like, "What are you trying to say? Spit it out, woman!" lol
Most of the time, I just call them "Girl-eez", of course, everyone comes then. If I am passing by one and am stammering, they turn into "my "bay-bee" or "li-tel gerl"
It seems to work because everyone's tail will instantly flip straight up, rattlesnake shake accompanied by a trill that means something good, I'm sure.

But I indulge in the OTHER favorite ritual shared by CCP's.. that is to make crazy songs about whoever is sitting around, keeping me company while I am cleaning up after breakfast, or doing a DIY, or whatever. THEN the names get really weird LOL

Nope, hard enough for me to remember the one name we gave them. Now with my sons, I am starting to mix up their names and when called about it I merely say, "Well, I don't see you'all often enough anymore so it is easy to forget who you are."

When I lived at home my cats had lots of nicknames! Unfortunately, I don't get to see them much anymore :(

Pepper is Pep, Pepsi, PepsiCat, Pepster, Peeper, Peepster, Peppah and probably a million other derivatives of her name but also my special nickname for her Little One

Bob is Bobster (the mobster, the lobster), Bobby, Robert, and Bobbers, and Bobcat :)

I always find that my pet's nicknames go through phases. Like I'll call them one nickname for a long time and then it changes and I use a different one.

Jack is often Jack-Jack or Little Jack or Little Jack Cat. I recently started calling him Jacker which led to Cracker Jack. Also he seems so much heftier than Rosie (really there's about a lb and a half difference between them) so I was calling him My Big and Fat.

Rosie is Rosie Girl or just my Lil Girl.

I also use what I call my "cat accent" which is sort of like baby talk but definitely not... It makes Lil Girl come out more like Lil Grrr. I would be totally embarrassed if anyone heard me talking like that but I can't help myself when I'm talking to my cats!

Mocha was usually Mochie

but also got Moch-ka-ka, Mochie cat
Pokie/Pokie cat/ Big-Fat-Pokie-Cat (she loved poking her nose into EVERYTHING)
Buffy/Buffy-Cat/Big-Fat-Buffy-Cat/Buff-Buff (she made a "buff" sound at times).
Moch-ster, Poke-ster,
Moch-a-roonie
or BarfBag (when she would go through a phase of 'punish Mommy by barfing all over')

She REALLY hated any name with "fat" in it...you'd get a very cold, icy stare from her green eyes and then a view of her butt turning to leave. Whenever she seen a vet and they were trying to calm her down, they would inadvertently use the "fat" word and she would instantly get hissy with them.

I am so glad I am not the only one who does this! (Another great reason I love this forum.)

Hera - Hair Bears
Athena - Theeny, Teeny Theens, Theeny Weens (You get the picture.)
Zeus - Because the girls call him Jiji and not Zeus I wind up calling him Jiji Weege or Weegims.

My poor cats.
