Both my cats recently got an upper respiratory infection. It's been 8 years since I had a sick cat. Back then L-Lysine was given to cats with viral infection.

I see that in the past few years its been proven that Lysine doesn't do anything at all to prevent or help recover from a viral infection.

Since its still be sold everywhere. my question is, does Lysine do anything beneficial for cats or is it just a placebo for cat owners?

I know it's in a lot of wet food now. It can help some cats with minor urinary issues. I don't think it does anything major.
