Has anyone tried this? How exactly would you use essential oils as flea and tick control for your cat? I read something about it being used on dogs, and being much better than the other pesticides that people normally use. I know dogs and cats who get very ill after regular flea and tick treatments.

*Never* use essential oils topically on a cat! Cats are highly sensitive and do not have the same capability in the liver to break down chemicals as dogs or people. The bug-repelling oils, because they are highly aromatic, can be very dangerous in cats.
