How do you tell pepper and pumpkin apart?

When they were kittens, it was nearly impossible. I'm still not sure which one I took to the vet for a hurt foot 8O :lol:

I still mix them up sometimes. Now that they're bigger, I can tell if I look closely or pet them because the texture of their fur is different. Pepper is more petite, and her fur is sleek and smooth. Pumpkin is fluffier, especially her tail which she always swishes when she walks. Her face is a little rounder than Pepper's.

Their personalities are different, too. Pepper is very active and loves to play. She has a notable hunting instinct and is always on guard. Pumpkin is kind of a couch potato :lol: who loves to purr and cuddle.

All in the details :lol:

Thank you, Stephie LOL, she is a bit of trouble. She loves to tip over unattended drinks and eat strings. She also steals food from Snickers. Crazy girl :lol:

Pumpkin and Pepper are sisters, part of a litter of four that was brought to our local shelter. They are lucky to be alive -- they were found in the woods when they were about a week old, with no mother in sight

Snickers came from the same shelter, 4 years earlier

 

They are all so adorable. Pepper sounds alot like Sugar and Pumpkin like my Twinkie, except the cuddlebug here is Sugar

 

Hey Lisa, that picture of Pepper and Pumpkin (both boooooful incidentally ) should go in the synchronised cat threads

 

They look like bookends, don't they :lol:
