I have this foster cat and I'd like some advice/help.
His body language is very confusing, he doesn't smell your hand when you offer it he just headbutts it and proceeds to rub himself into you (full body so this probably doesn't help as it stimulates him before you've even stroked him properly) when you do proceed to give him some attention his tail moves quite violently like he's way over stimulated but if you pull your hand away he goes to attack and I have quite a few scratch marks from this.
He is 12+ and doesn't seem to want to play, treat puzzles don't make a difference either as we don't think he can smell the treats. Are there any other ways to help this cat, he's lovely when he's calm and not confusing you with his body language, I just need some help/advice.
