... and it's not what you think! :D

Next weekend we're taking Sam and Suzy to a show and we decided we'd give them a bit of a bath. Just a quick rinse.

Hubby was the brave one and vounteered to do the work. We only have a shower, so he undressed, removed all loose items in the bathroom and got going.

I stood outside the door, just in case he needed a hand. No use for us to both be in there.

The sounds were hillarious!!!!

MEOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!

OUCH! YOU SCRATCHED ME!

MEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

*scraping sounds on the door*

*hillarious laughter from husband*

Hubby says: Sam's climbing my robe that hangs on the door, he's at the nob now.

*scratch sounds along the door*

MEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

*door handle rattles*

Hubby says: Watch the door, make sure it doesn't open

MEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!

OK, then it's my turn to take over, one wet cat (Sam) to dry him off. I thought he was going to be totally shell shocked, but I was wrong. When I rubbed him with the towel he started to purr!!

No more sounds from the bathroom... then hubby comes out with Suzy wrapped up in a towel too.

Suzy didn't say a thing all the time, she took the whole experience pretty well, even when she was in the same room as a hysterical Sam. (Why hubby brought both in at the same time is beyond me, but oh well).

After they were semi dried they both crawled into hubby's house coat to warm up.

Poor kids... but they are so soft and fluffy now... and smells good (well they did smell good earlier too).

I still laugh when I hear that meow and the scratching door and the rattling door handle. I think it'll take a while before they will be giving another bath (next show).

Hubby got away with only one scratch from the experience and he was butt naked! What a brave man I have. :D

What a hilarious description. I applaud your husband for his bravery! I'm glad your kitties made it thought the experience. And in case I don't get to tell you later, good luck at the show! :)

Too funny. What was he thinking bringing in both!!? Is he crazy!?
Maybe that is why Suzy was so calm.....she knew she was getting a bath after watching Sam.

Good luck at the show.

What is the saying about discretion being the better part of valor? I think your hubby deserves a medal on his birthday suit! As for me, I'll take discretion and leave the valor to him! :)

Wow, he was far more brave than me! I've went through a couple of baths with our cats and it's NOT fun at all. LoL

your hubby definitely has a lot of "balls"... i'm glad he came out of the bath with them intact. my cats hate their baths... gave them one last night as well (boyfriend & i wrapped in our usual ski jacket and rubber gloves getup since i've been scratched before) and tyson managed to grab onto one of my rubber gloves and rip a part of it off. we still came out of it unscratched, but that one was a close call -- gotta have to get thicker gloves for next round!

best of luck at the show!

 Oh my word Petra :D thats hilarious!

Let us know how they get on at the show... I'd like to show Dylan when he is a lil bit older but my other half is a big softie and is convinced he'll get bored being in a pen so on that basis I shouldn't do it...

*still giggling at your hubby*

Hahahaha... your replies are almost as fun as last night standing outside the door!!!

I thought that the cats wouldn't dare to near the bathroom today, which would be nice to sit alone there - you know. But oh no... Suzy jumped up in my lap as always and Sam... who I think felt like he needed to get back, started to bite the shower hose (which is metal, so I think Sam lucked out).

These cats are just hilarious! :D

The weekends show is going to be exciting (if my back holds)... here in Sweden you make a cover for the crate, to make it look nicer for the onlookers. The judges aren't allowed to go near the crates, so they aren't influenced by the decorated crates. I made a homepage design for one of the girls in the local cat club (one has to be a member to allow to show the cats) and she made me the cover. A quilt at the bottom, soft to sleep on for Sam and Suzy and the curtains and "roof" are one color. All grey and purple. Looks sooo great!

I'll keep you guys posted about the event. There's a two day show, so they have two chances to get som good judgements. I of course hope they'll end up Best in Show, but that's a bit too much to hope for.... but an Ex 1 would be nice. :)

i bath my kitties every 2 months or so, their pretty good about it. the 1 dosen't mind the washing, but would rather dry herself, after i get her from the soaking wet state to just wet, she wanders off to dry herself. the other would rather not be in the tub and winds up standing up on the side with her head buried in my chest as i was her, but the drying! oh how we love the drying part!..lol spreeds out all over the bathroom floor as i dry her, even after i ger her dry she follows me around waiting for more
