I was on another forum (pet-related) and this site was brought up, figured I'd post it here for all the blind cat-owners too! ;)

https://zennioptical.com/cart/home.php

I just ordered 6 prs of glasses, 1 tinted & 5 anti-glare, all including my prescription, for $160CAD (including shipping!).

My TWO pairs of glasses at the "regular" store last year were around $250 (after insurance covered some of them!).

Clark Howard raves about this web site. I haven't bought any glasses there, but Clark is the world's cheapest cheapskate, but he won't compromise on quality or customer service, so if he think ordering glasses from there is the way to go, it's good enough for me. Glad to hear from someone else that he's right. :)

Muzby, I saw this post a while back and I'm wondering how it went?

I need to get new glasses, and I just wanted to make sure everything worked out for you before I order my own.

Thanks :D

It was fine!

The first order, my eye doctor!!! got the scrip wrong, so I had to send ALL the glasses back and order new ones. They couldnt refund all my money, as it wasn't their fault.. but I did get $65ish back b/c you can send your glasses back within 30days for any reason and get money back.

My re-order (w/correct prescription) is fine, one scrip is off, but now that I have those frames I don't like them so much so I won't be sending them back to be fixed I don't think. And hey, I ordered SEVEN pairs this time, for about $179 CAN. 6 anti-glare, 1 sunglasses.

They came in about 3-4weeks b/c I ordered sun glasses (the coating takes longer, apparently). I got 80% tint, and altho I would like it darker, they're good glasses. None of the frames are "cheap", I am amazingly happy with the company. :)

(I also noticed they have Christmas frames now! YAY!)

So how did you know what size to order?
My bifocal lenses were set in the glasses based on where my pupil is located and whether I am a pointer (point you nose at what you are looking at or whetheryou just move your eyes). They aren't going to be able to do that...

Not sure about bifocals, but the pupilary distance is something your Optometrist should give you, and perhaps the pointing thing too? When you go in for your eye exam (or already had one) ask them to just write down those things with your prescription, I know for any glasses you're going to need your pupilary distance. Just because the eye doctors office is in a eye glasses store (like mine) does not mean you should have to buy the glasses there...

A friend just called up her Optometrist and got them to tell her that info, I got my PD from the guy at Hakim Optical (they sell glasses, and it's a free service). They even checked my scrip in all the original order of glasses for free. :)

As for the size of the glasses, I'm not sure either (re: pointer/etc). I guess after you get all the info, you could order one $8 pair and see if they're worth it? If it fails, you'll have wasted only a little money, and can get some of it back when you return them. I would probably email them directly and ask about that... the place your ordered last would HAVE to give you that info and you can forward it on to Zenni.
