Greetings fellow feline aficionados!

My name is Jason. I fell in love with our furry friends in the last year as a result of routinely taking care of my g/f's two, black DSHs; Addie and Apollo. Before meeting my lovely g/f and her beautiful little creatures I had always admired and enjoyed the company of cats, though I had never owned one growing up due to allergies of family members.

I don't think there was any single moment where I fell in love with these critters, rather, I think they grew on me in time. Their individuality, their desire for both love and privacy, their cleanliness, the hilarious and heart warming moments they provide; it was all revealed slowly...before I knew it I was head over heals for them lol.

So now, I think the time has come to start thinking about adopting my own little guy! That's why I'm here! I want to know everything I can possibly know, and be as prepared as humanly possible, mentally and physically, for when I bring my cutie home (I have every intention of adopting a rescue cat).

The research and the knowledge I've already acquired from reading these forums, visiting my local shelter and other sources has already enhanced my relationship with Addie and Apollo. I want my relationship with my own kitty to be that much more and I figure interacting with lots of experienced cat owners via this forum is a great way of doing just that.

Thanks so much!

Hi Jason! It's so exciting getting your first cat. One thing I wish we had done was videotape their very first steps in your house, like coming out of the carrier and whatever comes next. Those moments tend to be huge.

Welcome to the forum, and I hope you'll let us know when you adopt your kitty!

Welcome to the forum! And I can assure you - once you get a cat - your life will be forever changed for the better!
Ya know, in the relatively short time I've known Addie and Apollo I've honestly felt like a more compassionate human being. Like the more I learn about them, get inside their little cat world, the more I appreciate my own existence as a human. :p

Oh My Goodness!! I can't wait! The living situation is not yet right, but will be soon and then it will be kitty bellyrubdown heaven for some cute cat out there lol.

Filming is a must!
