Hello all,

I'm from NY and currently looking to adopt a cat. I've never had a cat before although I've spent time with friends' cats and loved them, I've wanted my own for awhile and finally I'm in a stable financial and living situation where I can adopt one!
I joined this forum to learn more about behavior and to post and ask questions regarding behavior, care, food, etc.

Great! When you do go to adopt, make sure it is a really helpful place that will try to match you and the cat together perfectly. You're more likely to find the "right one" if you haven't already got too strong an ideal fixed in your mind - be as ope inded as you can be about colour, type, sex, age, etc..

so glad you're going to adopt!!! hope when you go to the shelter, one (or more!) lucky kitties realized you are meant for them and captures your heart immediately. there's nothing like forming a true bond with your kitty. i think there is a special bond out there for everyone.
