3 weeks ago I have adopted an incredible 4 month old tabby cat from my local animal rescue. Sadly it seems I have developed allergies for it. The first week was just sniffles and scratchy eyes, which were manageable and my kitten made it worth it. But lately I have developed a nasty cough which is hard to be overpowered by anti histamines. I have coughed so much I had torn a muscle in my upper left back. This cough only seems to appear at night.

Sadly I have had to give my kitten to our shelters boarding school (hopefully not too long) and have an appointment for an allergist on Friday. If anyone could help That would be appreciated

No way to help, really, although I wish I could. It's going to be a matter of whether or not there is a medication that is safe for you to take on a long term basis that makes it possible for you to live and be healthy with a cat. If there is not, then you won't be able to have a cat. I hope very much that it doesn't go that way for you.
