Artie has been so good lately.
This is something that has never happened to either him or me before.
I am long winded so please bear with me.
Artie is 9yrs old, neutered male, with me for one year.
This afternoon, I was getting comfy on my bed with my laptop. I had the bedroom window open all day. Cool Sea breeze coming in. I felt a cold, wet spot with my feet. I smelled it and it STANK to high heaven!!! :-x
I jumped down, the carpet felt cold and wet--smelt it, stank!! but a bit drier than the bedspread. I pulled off the bedspread, blanket, topsheet. Went around to the other side, smelt the carpet--stunk! drier than the rest! I smelt around, (I have a good sense of smell, but not needed for this stink!) and found that he hit the dust ruffle also!!
Artie is a very clean cat.. He never did this before! I never had a cat that did this! I do not what to do!!
I dumped a ton of Nature's Miracle on the rug; took the bedspread, top sheet and pulled the dust ruffle out. I am washing them all in Nature's Miracle, extra strength, and Tide!!
I have towels trying to blot up the excess of the cleaner.
I can see maybe one area, cuz I was cleaning his bathroom.
I got him a high sided new litter box last Saturday. I left it out for him to get used to. Artie has been hiding and sleeping in it all week. I dumped his dirty litter in it, washed out his old box and let it air dry in the sun, outside.
After cleaning the pee, I placed towels over the area. I put his old box on top of the towels.
He has used his new box already! Twice! First time, he could not wait for poop. It was still in the hall and he used it! Then he used it to pee.
Artie always waits till the last minute to pee--large clumps, 3-4 times a day..not straining...His appetite is very good (surprising cuz he is so finicky). Actually he has been eating me out of house and home. I finally found the food he likes and he loves it! He does not get dry at all, now...Does not drink much. I add water to his food--he loves that! drinks that first..
He is just about due for blood work. He had a full physical a year ago, blood work, teeth cleaning and extraction-in June, and an echocardiogram in July. He saw the Vet briefly in December--just to say hi and check him out~no blood work then.
I think I know what you guys are going to say.
But, he is alert, loves to go on the balcony..was playing a lot today..does not feel feverish, not straining to pee, poops ok, appetite very good, cuddles a lot, has been very vocal yesterday and today (that comes in spells) let me brush him a tad this morning......
My last kittie, Pumpkin was a diabetic..She was peeing a lot!!!!! sleeping a lot...and drinking tons!!!
Actually, this afternoon-he was a play machine!!
Funny, we watched Jackson Galaxy last night. One of the cats was a sprayer!! Artie was watching also!! wonder if he got any ideas????
I live on the second floor of an apartment building, so there is no threat from another cat invading his space.
Why is he marking my Bed?
It was all around my Bed!!!:x
Help please!!
